I recently needed a hernia repair and was fortunate to see Mr Dutta at the Park hospital. Before meeting him my Wife and I were apprehensive as to what the whole entailed. On meeting Mr Dutta he explained very clearly and patiently, in layman's terms why the procedure was necessary, how it would be performed, what potential risks could be involved and why the post operative precautions needed to be followed. This consultation was conducted in such a way that our concerns were addressed in a polite and understanding way which was good preparation for the operation. When the day came Mr Dutta politely greeted us like friends and went through the procedure again and completed the paperwork. Finally after a few weeks we met with Mr Dutta again when he made sure everything was medically OK and that we were happy with the recovery and the results. We were impressed with Mr Dutta's professionalism both medical and compassionate skills. I feel privileged and thankful to have met this gifted, confident gentleman. A credit to the medical world. I had been suffering from a right side hernia for a while when I went to see Surgeon Sam just before Christmas. Diagnosis was instant and in early January I had my operation at the Park Hospital. The operation was a success and recovery took two weeks, I’m now back to normal. Thank you Surgeon Sam!

My mother recently needed a hernia operation and this was undertaken just before Christmas. She approached it with trepidation as she is 90 years old. Mr Dutta fully explained the procedure - inguinal hernia. He listened to me and provided valuable and reassuring advice. The surgery was carried out with no complications. He fully explained the recovery and healing to take place. A follow up meeting took place five weeks after surgery which confirmed the effectiveness of the surgery. He then gave good advice about restarting my exercise regime. An brilliant consultant surgeon.
